The second victory came from the Shields’ under 18’s squad who battled their way to a 10 - 7 victory against Percy Park under 18s. The first half saw the two teams defences seem impenetrable, which left the half time score at 0 - 0. The second half begin with an early break through from  Park, but Shields’ squad worked hard to return in kind, by driving to good position on the pitch, then after being awarded a penalty for Park holding on in the ruck, the ball was shipped wide and Shields’ took full advantage of the overlap and used it to send winger Steven Thompson between the posts for a try, which was converted easily by fly half Gavin Duffy. After this the half seemed dry of points until Shields found themselves in a great position for a penalty kick, all eyes turned to outside centre Daniel Persson, from just inside their own 22 metre line, Daniel struck the ball, onlookers gazed as the ball slotted easily through the posts for another 3 points, pushing the score to 10 - 7 with Shields leading.
The rest of the game saw the Shields squad relentlessly defending their line to keep their lead. Percy Park found no way through and a crunching tackle forced a knock on from Park which marked the end of the game. For their efforts on the pitch coach Steven Binks award man of the match to all of the squad. Park were quick to leave the scene refusing Shields’ hospitality.
