Jamie Noon presents club awards by Shieldy
The annual end of season dinner and awards were last Saturday night. The special guest was England International and Newcastle Falcon centre Jamie Noon who presented the awards and took part in and question and answer session.
The 1st team player of the year was Jonathan Kenny with club stalwart Fen Taylor awarded 2nd team player of the year. Andrew Burrows was voted players player and Peter Finlay most improved player.
The Club Man of the Year award went to 1st team manager Danny Willshire. The young player of the year was Chris Summerson. A special award was given to club coach Graham Herbert for changing the fortunes of the team around and attracting new players to the club
The awards were also presented on the night to the Under 16 team winners. The player of the season was Mark Cryer. Louis Wallace was voted players player with Rhys Coltherd most improved player. The final award The Sniffer award for commitment and dedication went to Alex Fraser.
The chesties challenge match was 15-10 to the vets when the match was cut short in the final quarter due to a bad ankle injury to Scott Rendles.
